i4MT recognizes that the future of trading is with automated systems and tools. The creation and testing of the trading strategy, quantified logic and technological implementation of trading systems and automated tools require a new skill set that lies at the intersection of three disciplines:
- Quantitative Finance
- Trading Strategy
- Computer Science
i4MT's Certified Trading System Developer designation covers these topics, which are outlined in detail in the CTSD Core Body of Knowledge. The Core Body of Knowledge material is covered within the texts of the CTSD Recommended Reading List. All CTSD certification holders and candidates are required to abide by the CSTD Code of Professional Conduct.
The CTSD program consists of three examinations, one each in the three areas of discipline. In order to receive the CTSD certification, a candidate must pass each of the exams, although in no particular order. Each of the exams will be offered three times per year.
