CERTIFICATION ENROLLMENT

Prerequisites

The topics covered by the i4MT certifications presume a high level of ability in the areas of technology, trading strategy and/or mathematics.  Program content extends well beyond basic concepts in these areas.  While no specific academic prerequisites are prescribed, applicants should consider their ability to succeed in these areas before applying. 

Examinations

The  Certified Trading System Developer examinations are offered at locations worldwide.  However, arrangements may be made with i4MT to sit for the examination in your area.  All requests for alternate test sites will be considered by i4MT on a case-by-case basis.

Basic Requirements

In order to be considered for admission into a certification program offered by i4MT, an applicant must:

  • Have a bachelor's degree, or
  • Be a college student scheduled to receive a bachelor's degree no later than 31 December of the enrolment year, or
  • Have at least four years of qualified financial industry work experience, or
  • Have a combination of college and industry work experience totaling at least four years, and
  • Complete, sign and return the:

Certified Trading System Developer ( CTSD ) Application

  • Pay the program fee of $995 USD, £495 GBP, or €675 EUR.  

Application review and processing may take up to two weeks. Applications that lack any of the required information will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed until all omissions are provided.

Requirements for Certification

To be awarded a certification by i4MT, a candidate must:

  • Pass the required examination(s), and
  • Join i4MT as an Individual Member, and
  • Comply with the appropriate Code of Professional Conduct for certification-holders.

Textbooks

i4MT makes available CTSD study guides to admitted students.  In order to master the concepts covered in the body of knowledge, the purchase of additional textbooks may be necessary.  It is the responsibility of the student purchase any and all required texts.  The cost of textbooks is not included in the registration fee.
